#BowWowChallenge（バウワウチャレンジ）
#BowWowChallengeとは、実際はそうでないにも関わらず、セレブのように見せかける写真を投稿するミーム。
2017年、英語圏のTwitter上で「#BowWowChallenge」というハッシュタグが話題になりました。
発端となったのは、Instagramに投稿されたある一枚の写真です。
アメリカのラッパー、Bow WowがInstagramに「ライブ会場に向かうため、これからプライベートジェットに乗る」というキャプションを添えて、飛行機の写真を投稿しました。
コメント欄には、いかにもセレブらしい行動を羨む声が寄せられていましたが、その数時間後、Twitter上であるユーザーがエコノミークラスに搭乗しているBow Wowの姿を目撃したと投稿。
結果的に、Bow Wowは見栄を張り、セレブ生活を送っているかのように装っていたことが発覚。
真相を知ったネットユーザーたちによって、情報は瞬く間に拡散されました。
この一件により、Bow Wowは大きな恥をかくことになります。
そしてこの騒動をきっかけに、Twitter上では「あたかも自分がセレブであるかのように見せる」投稿をする「#BowWowChallenge」が始まりました。
"#BowWowChallenge"のハッシュタグが付いた投稿には、海の画像をパソコン画面に表示させ、それをスマホで撮影して「いまハワイにいる」と投稿するものや、球場の映像が映った画面の前に立ち、角度や照明を調整して本当に客席にいるかのように見せり写真など、様々な工夫を凝らした投稿が見られました。

#BowWowChallenge is a meme in which people post photos that make them appear to be living like celebrities, even though they are not.
In 2017, the hashtag "#BowWowChallenge" went viral on English-speaking Twitter.
It all started with a single photo posted on Instagram.
American rapper Bow Wow posted a picture of a private jet on Instagram with the caption, "Heading to a show, about to hop on a private jet."
In the comments section, people admired what seemed to be a glamorous celebrity lifestyle. However, just a few hours later, a Twitter user posted that they had spotted Bow Wow sitting in economy class on a commercial flight.
It was eventually revealed that Bow Wow had been showing off and pretending to live a celebrity lifestyle.
Once the truth came out, the story spread rapidly across the internet.
As a result, Bow Wow became the subject of widespread embarrassment.
Following the incident, Twitter users began posting photos that made it look as if they were celebrities, launching what became known as the "#BowWowChallenge."
Posts tagged with "#BowWowChallenge" included creative attempts such as displaying an image of the ocean on a computer screen, taking a photo of it with a smartphone, and captioning it "I'm in Hawaii," or standing in front of a screen showing a baseball stadium and adjusting the angle and lighting to make it appear as though they were actually sitting in the stands.
